Apply for the 2027 Royal Society Pairing Scheme

Before you start the application process here, please ensure you meet the following eligibility criteria and are able to upload a copy of your CV. The Royal Society welcomes applications from scientists across all science, technology, engineering, medicine and mathematics (STEMM) disciplines working in academia or industry. To be eligible for the scheme applicants are required to be working for an institution in the UK and to have at least two years postdoctoral research experience or equivalent research experience in industry. If you have participated in the Pairing Scheme in the past you are not eligible to apply again. You must also be able to spend time in Westminster from Monday 15 March to Thursday 18 March 2027 and be willing to arrange a reciprocal visit for the person you are paired with to come to your institution or organisation. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate good communication skills and, in particular, an ability to communicate their research to a lay audience. Please note that any civil servants interested in applying for this scheme must apply via the Government Science and Engineering Profession (GSE).
